La casa en la que nació don Delio Moreno Cantón es una de las casas con mayor historia en la Sultana del Oriente; fue morada de don Roque Rosado, procurador de la villa en 1810, perteneció en 1835 a don Pedro Sainz de Baranda, impulsor de la industria textil, quien ofreció hospedaje a John L. Stephens, explorador y autor del libro “Viajes a Yucatán”.
Otro propietario de esta casa fue el general Francisco Cantón Rosado, ex gobernador de Yucatán y motivo por el que nació en ella su sobrino don Delio Moreno Cantón el 11 de marzo de 1863, quien fuera un “magnate” del pensamiento y la palabra; abogado, notario público, escritor, poeta, periodista, dramaturgo, novelista y político.

Delio Moreno Canton’s birth house is one of the most storied houses in the Sultaness of the East. Inhabited by Don Roque Rosado, city attorney in 1810, it belonged in 1835 to Don Pedro Sainz de Baranda, promoter of the textile industry, who hosted John L. Stephens, explorer and author of the book “Incidents of Travel in Yucatan”
