1. Confederate Soldiers 1861-1865 Marker
Inscription. During the Civil War, The Central House Hotel that was located near the railroad was converted to a hospital. When more than 200 soldiers died there from wounds or disease, they were buried here. Many of the men are unidentified. Civil War veterans buried in family plots include Brigadier General Evander McNair.
 
Erected 1996 by Mississippi Department of Archives and History.
