This brigade arrived at Lee and Gordon's Mill from the vicinity of Glass' Mill at 1 o'clock a.m. Sept. 19th. At 11 o'clock the division, Hazen's Brigade leading, was ordered to the left on the Lafayette Road to report to Gen. Thomas at the center, where the engagement had been progressing for several hours. The command reached the Poe Field at noon, and immediately moved southeastwardly in echelon into action, Hazen's Brigade being on the left 80 paces advanced.

More about this marker. According to James Ogden, the historian for the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, this particular tablet is, "the now long missing tablet for Hazen's Brigade" and adds that it, "used to be along the LaFayette Road about 1/4 mile south of the south boundary of the Chickamauga Battlefield unit of the NMP."
