Regarding General Mariano Escobedo. General Mariano Antonio Guadalupe Escobedo de la Pe๑a (b. San Pablo de los Labradores, Nuevo Le๓n, January 16, 1826 - d. Mexico City, May 22, 1902) was a prominent Mexican military man who fought during the Mexican-American War, the Reform Wars and the Second French Intervention against the imperial army of Maximilian. He is probably most famous for accepting Maximilian's surrender at the end of the siege of Quer้taro in 1867. He was a politician of liberal ideology, was governor of San Luis Potosํ and Nuevo Le๓n. He was senator and Minister of War during the
presidential period of Sebastiแn Lerdo de Tejada.
