Regarding Simon Bolivar. Although it is doubtful that Simσn Bolνvar ever visited the island nation of Dominica during his lifetime, this monument was most likely a gift from Venezuela. The two countries enjoy a good relationship in present times, with Venezuela providing emergency supplies and services after Dominica was heavily hit by Hurricane Maria in September 2017.
