This marker is situated in a small archaeological park that helps to preserve the ruins of the ancient church building named St. Jean Church. This church was built for the church community that once lived in the city that was once named Philadelphia. Some 500 years earlier, the church in Philadelphia wasn't a building, but rather, it was a body of believers, and this church of believers in Philadelphia was one of the seven churches discussed in the Book of Revelation.
