Mensaje en las rocas: los petroglifos
Los petroglifos se hacían retirando la capa superficial de la roca a través de golpes, cortes y pulido hechos con otra roca. Son uno de los rasgos distintivos de la cultura Xajay. En Pahñu hay algunos que marcan la salida y el ocaso del sol para los día 13 de abril y 29 de agosto.

Este petroglifo recuerda la imagen de Cipactli, el Monstruo de la Tierra: mitad lagarto y mitad pez, que existía antes de la creación del mundo. Su cuerpo estaba dividido en dos y daba forma a los cielos en los niveles superiores y al inframundo en los inferiores. En medio se encontraba la superficie del mundo que habita el hombre.

Evita raspar, rayar y llevarte las rocas. Conserva tu patrimonio para que en el futuro los hijos de tus hijos lo puedan disfrutar. ¡Gracias!

the distinguishing characteristics of the Xajay culture. In Pahñu, some mark the sunset and sunrise on April 13 and August 29.

This petroglyph looks like Cipactli, the Earth Monster - part crocodile part fish -- which existed before the creation of the world. Its body was divided in two and gave shape to the higher levels of the heavens and the lower levels of the underworld. The surface of the world was found in the middle, where man lives.

Avoid scraping, scratching and taking the rocks. Preserve your heritage so that your children's children can enjoy it. Thank you!
