The Church of Real San José del Pinal de los Amoles was constructed in 1770 under the Viceroy Carlos Francisco de Croix, Marquis of Croix; Archbishop of Mexico Francisco Lorenzana y Butron; Mayor of Cadereyta and its jurisdiction the Captain Andrés Gil de Taboada; Priest of the Real de San Pedro Escanela, Antonio Manuel de Larrazaval; the first Vicar of the Church of Real San José del Pinal de los Amoles was José María Rodríguez, the first service was held on April 3, 1771.
