Text on the second tablet:
Upon the retreat of two brigades of Brannan's Divisions from the vicinity of the Poe House after the break at the Union center, General Reynolds moved King's Brigade to the left and across the Lafayette Road, and formed it in front of the Kelly Field, facing south. It was not seriously engaged during the afternoon. About 5 p.m. Colonel King was killed and Colonel Robinson took command. At 5:30 it withdrew with the division passing north on the Lafayette Road to the fields south of McDonald's, where at sunset it took part with Turchin's Brigade in a charge northward upon the flank of Liddell's Division, forcing it east of the Lafayette Road. In locating this tablet I used the "Chickamauga Battlefield" map, that I purchased at the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, Visitor Center, to determine both the marker number for this tablet and the tablet's location in relation to the rest of the park's monuments, markers, and tablets. According to the map it provides the, "numerical listing of all monuments, markers, and tablets on the Chickamauga Battlefield (using the Chick-Chatt NMP Monument Numbering System).”
