Regarding Temple of Our Lady of the Pillar. The Temple and former Convent of "La Enseñanza" is one of the greatest jewels of the Baroque in Mexico. Its construction began in 1754 when the nuns of the Company of Mary, got Royal permission for its construction. The interior is simply masterful. The altarpiece, which stands out from the rest of the interior, dates from 1780 and is completely finished in gold. Dedicated to Nuestra Señora del Pilar (Our Lady of the Pillar), it has two bodies and a flared top. The sculptures represent, among others, Saint John of the Cross, Saint Augustine, Saint Gregory,
