This brigade occupied the right of Hood’s division in the morning line of battle, with Robertson’s brigade on its left, and Benning’s on the second line. About 3 o’clock the brigade moved to the support of Stewart’s division then engaged east of Brotherton’s. The brigade passed in the rear of Stewart’s line, and part of it attacked Crufts brigade, which assisted by Turchin’s brigade, checked the advance of the brigade.

Parking is available in a gravel lot on the south side of Viniard Road (N 34 54.091 W 85 15.105). The maker is along a path that crosses Viniard Road east of the parking area near the 7th Indiana Mounted Infantry marker (MT-784). Follow the path north (left when headed east) to the marker.
