1. Schrack’s Corner Marker

Inscription. The land between Betzwood and Schrack’s corner was inherited by the Schrack children from their mother, Mary Elizabeth Norris Schrack, a lineal descendant of the celebrated Quaker Family. Her father Charles Norris, grandson of Isaac Norris, had no male issue. The Norris Manor, which encompassed at one time all of Norristown and surrounding land as far as Betzwood, was purchased from the son of William Penn in 1704. Schrack’s corner had a mercantile business run by the Schrack family. Dr. John Schrack had a lucrative practice there as well. The Schrack Family is of the Protestant German emigration of 1717.
