Wright, 85-year-old veteran of the War between the States, and for half a century comptroller-general of Georgia, is dead. His passing last night after the strain of the recent Legislature, took from the State the official who held office longer than any man ever to submit his name to the vote of the people. General Wright became ill at the close of the 1929 session of the Georgia General Assembly, several weeks ago. His condition was diagnosed as a partial nervous breakdown due to the strenuous requirements of the Legislative business, and at first was regarded with no alarm.
