1. The Building of the Four Altars Marker
Las salas con columnas son edificios característicos en sitios de tradición tolteca. Los cuatro altares ubicados al interior de esta sala se encontraban cubiertos por una techumbre sostenida por dos hileras de columnas de madera. Los altares fueron construidos sobre un piso de estuco pulido, el cual se extendía a toda la sala, en donde también fueron descubiertos dos fogones o tlecuiles. Su fachada principal era abierta, de tipo pórtico, y observaba hacia la Plaza de las Esculturas. La parte superior de la fachada estuvo decorada con un friso de chalchihuites y rematada con una serie de coronamientos de piedra representando dardos solares. Frente a cada altar había un gran brasero de cerámica con tapa de más de un metro de altura. En el interior de los braseros fueron encontrados objetos quemados como ofrenda, entre estos había punzones de hueso, figurillas y malacates de barro, así como puntas de proyectil talladas en sílex blanco, obsidiana y riolita roja.

The Building of the Four Altars
Rooms constructed with columns are characteristic in buildings in sites with a Toltec tradition. The four altars located inside this room were covered by a roof supported by two rows of wooden columns. The altars were built on a polished stucco floor, which extended throughout the whole room, where two fire pits or tlecuiles were also discovered. Its main facade was open, similar to a porch, and looked out towards the Plaza de las Esculturas. The upper part of the façade of the building was decorated with a frieze of chalchihuites (green, circular symbols) and topped with a series of stone crowns representing solar darts. In front of each altar was a large ceramic incense burner or brazier with a lid more than one meter high. Inside the braziers were found burnt objects probably left as offerings, among these were bone punches, clay figurines and spindles, as well as projectile points carved in white flint, obsidian and red rhyolite.

Marker can be reached from Camino el Cerrito just west of Capitán Pedro Urtiaga, on the right when traveling west. The marker is roughly south of the Pyramid at the El Cerrito Archaeological Site.
