September. 20th, 1863.
Jackson’s Brigade, - Brigadier General John K. Jackson.
Smith’s Brigade, - Brigadier General Preston Smith.
Smith’s Brigade, - Colonel Alfred J. Vaughan, Jr.
Maney’s Brigade, - Brigadier General George Maney.
Wright’s Brigade, - Brigadier General Marcus J. Wright.
Strahl’s Brigade, - Brigadier General Otho F. Strahl.
Jackson's Brigade, supported by Maney's, became sharply engaged, together with Polk's Brigade of Cleburne's Division and Breckinridge's Division, upon the front's of Johnson and Baird, who withdrew hastily to the woods west of the Kelly field, followed to that point by the Confederate line.

Marker can be reached from Brotherton Road west of Alexander Bridge Road, on the left when traveling west. This marker (tablet) is located in the National Military Park that preserves the site of the Chickamauga Battlefield, and is situated along a park walking trail that runs south from the Brotherton Road, and through the woods to the east and south of the Brock Field. More about this marker. I used the "Chickamauga Battlefield" map, that I purchased at the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, Visitor Center, to determine both the marker number for this tablet and the tablet's location in relation to the rest of the park's monuments, markers, and tablets. According to the map it provides the, "numerical listing of all monuments, markers, and tablets on the Chickamauga Battlefield (using the Chick-Chatt NMP Monument Numbering System).”
