N.W. ¾ mi. Here are buried 170 unknown Confederate soldiers who died at field hospital after various battles in 1862-63 from Shiloh to Vicksburg.
 
Erected 1957 by Mississippi Historical Commission.

There are no actual graves here, these are memorial grave markers. This cemetery is placed as near as possible to one of the mass burial sites often set up during the Civil War, but the remains were not disinterred and reburied here.
