Robinwood Medical Center opens for business. It is enlarged in 1996 and 2001.

1997
Fiber optic telecommunications arrive in downtown Hagerstown.

The city obtains the former Washington County Fairgrounds, makes major improvements and opens it to the public as a city park.

2005
The University System of Maryland opens an urban campus on West Washington Street in the former Baldwin Hotel.

The Barbara Ingram School for the Arts opens on South Potomac Street in the historic Henry's Theater.

Hagerstown Business College (founded 1938) becomes part of Kaplan University.
