Archie N. Wiggins. (1863–1927). The son of Thomas J. Wiggins, he was born in El Monte, and was one of the few American children to attend Old Mission School. He was known as the “Watermelon King” due to his success in raising watermelons in large quantities. He was an active worker for the development of educational facilities in El Monte, and owned considerable property in the town. He was appointed as Constable for El Monte by the County Constable of Los Angeles. . This historical marker is in Rosemead in Los Angeles County California
