Delegación Felipe Carrillo Puerto
Esta delegación tiene su origen en grupos humanos mesoamericanos y posteriormente se constituye en el pueblo de San Miguel Carrillo. A partir de 1924 fue subdelegación y se erigió como delegación según decreto del 15 de diciembre de 1927, nombramiento que conservó durante breve tiempo, siendo hasta el año de 1994 en que quedó integrada como una de las siete delegaciones del Municipio de Querétaro, denominándose entonces Felipe Carrillo Puerto (1874-1924), personaje emprendedor de la lucha de los indígenas y los derechos sociales. Se desempeñó como campesino, comerciante y obrero, llegando a distinguirse también como intelectual y excelente orador. En 1915 formó parte de la comisión agraria del zapatismo; tradujo la Constitución al maya con el propósito de dar a conocer a los indígenas sus derechos y fue gobernador de Yucatán de 1922 a 1924; también es recordado por sus obras de tipo social y educativo además del compromiso que sostuvo con el bienestar de los indios mayas. Felipe Carrillo Puerto Delegation
This delegation was originally populated by Mesoamerican human groups and was subsequently constituted in the town of San Miguel Carrillo. From 1924 it was a sub-delegation and was then advanced as a delegation according to the decree of December 15, 1927, an appointment that it retained for a short time, being until 1994 that it was integrated as one of the seven delegations of the Municipality of Querétaro, then named for Felipe Carrillo Puerto (1874-1924). He was an important character in the struggle of indigenous peoples and for social rights. He served as a small farmer, trader and laborer, also distinguishing himself as an intellectual and excellent speaker. In 1915 he was part of the Zapatista agricultural commission. He translated the Constitution into the Maya language for the purpose of making indigenous people aware of their rights and was governor of Yucatan from 1922 to 1924. creator of The National University of the Southeast, The Vocational School of Arts and Crafts, The Academy of the Mayan Language, The Faculty of Homeopathic Medicine and The Archaeological Museum of Yucatán. He was taken prisoner during the de la Huerta rebellion and shot on January 3, 1924. He was declared as the Most Worthy of Yucatán in 1927.
