Inscription. A group portrait of the Ford negotiating team in Washington D.C. June 1941. Ford's first collective bargaining agreement with the United Auto Workers was considered to be groundbreaking because it explicitly prohibited discrimination based on "race, color, national origin or creed," a clause that has remained in every subsequent agreement.
