Rock Art & Game Trails
Grimes Point Archaeological Area
Rock art in the Great Basin has often been linked to prehistoric game trails. While this seems strange for this barren scene, consider what this area was like thousands of years ago. Grimes Point would have been a peninsula surrounded by water, and the edge of the marsh was nearby. Hunters could have crouched behind the boulders, waiting for antelope and deer that felt secure coming to water in an area where they could see in all directions.
