1. United States Soldiers' and Airmen's Home National Cemetery Marker
Inscription. The United States Soldier's and Airmen's Home National Cemetery (USSAHNC) is the oldest national cemetery in the nation, receiving its first decedent on 3 August 1861. Its mission today is to provide a honorable, final resting place for residents of the Armed Forces Retirement Home - Washington, DC (AFRH-W) whose grounds it adjoins.

The marker is on the grounds of the cemetery, which is open everyday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., except Memorial Day when it is open until 7:00 p.m. Touch for map.
