1. Alexander Grant House Marker

Inscription. Built 1721 with earlier portions constructed c. 1690-1700. In addition to serving as a residence, these buildings once housed a temperance hotel and medical offices. John S. Rock, the first African-American attorney admitted to practice law before the U.S. Supreme Court, studied dentistry here prior to 1850.
