Inscription. Along this road ran the route of the Shiawassee Indian Trail through Farmington Hills. The trail began near the Detroit River and extended northwest into the center of the state. This Shiawassee Road closely follows the original trail.

Erected 1987 by Farmington Hills Historical Commission.
