Plaza José María González Arratia
Durante la época colonial, los terrenos que ahora ocupa funcionaban como cementerio para los religiosos del Convento Franciscano de Nuestra Señora de La Asunción. Tras ser fraccionados, fueron ocupados en 1883 por un mercado que se instaló en el marco de la primera exposición industrial, ganadera y comercial del Estado. El mercado funcionó hasta 1935, año en que lo destruyó un incendio. En su lugar fueron levantados el Mercado Hidalgo y el Cine Coliseo, que posteriormente fueron demolidos, hasta la construcción de la plaza actual en 1996. Actualmente es un espacio utilizado para presentar diversas actividades artísticas, artesanales y de exposiciones temporales.

During colonial times, the grounds it now occupies functioned as a cemetery for the religious of the Franciscan Convent of Our Lady of the Assumption. After being subdivided, it was occupied in 1883 by a market that was installed within the framework of the state's first industrial, livestock and commercial exhibition. The market ran until 1935, when it was destroyed by a fire. Afterwards, the Hidalgo Market and the Colosseum Cinema were erected, which were subsequently demolished. The construction of the current square dates to 1996. Currently it is a space used to present various artistic, artisanal and temporary exhibition activities.
