1. Built 1880s Marker
Inscription. On this lot, Ralph Crabb built some of the city's earliest buildings, where he operated a hotel and tavern from 1811 to 1831. In 1863, during Union army occupation of Winchester, F. A. Loughmiller, owner of the building, traveled to Charleston with $20,000 to purchase necessities for the citizens of Franklin County. Between 1881 and 1920, T. J. Jackson and his family ran a popular dry goods and shoe store here.
