1. Grants Lick Marker
Inscription. Many salt wells located in this area, left over from the last Ice Age. Salt making was an early business in Grant's Lick. John Grant was one of the owners, and the entire area is named for him. Mary (Boone) Bryan — sister to Col. Daniel Boone — is buried in the Grant's Lick (Oakland) Cemetery next door to the museum (Top of the hill, left side of the cemetery. Look for a US Flag/flagpole)
