Pond Lot Preserve
These seventeen acres of open land were purchased by their neighbors and other friends to be a vignette of Katama's ancient natural beauty. It is a living specimen of the great Katama Plains, a long established habitat of native plants, deer, rabbits, hawks, songbirds, white footed mice, meadow voles and many others. It offers visual refreshment and spiritual renewal for those who pause to contemplate it.
The Vineyard Open Land Foundation facilitated this project, made the conservation of the land possible, and entrusted its perpetual preservation to the Sheriff's Meadow Foundation.
