St. Michaels Cemetery
— Colonial Archaeological Trail —
Approximately 3,200 marked graves are in this cemetery, along with many unmarked burials. UWF archaeologists and volunteers conserve the markers; conduct limited excavations; and identify graves using remote sensing, a non- invasive technique. A nonprofit organization, St. Michael's Cemetery Foundation of Pensacola, Inc., provides primary stewardship with substantial in-kind support from the University of West Florida.
