1. Bald Eagle Marker
Inscription. Bald eagles were once endangered largely due to DDT, a pesticide that harmed bald eagles' eggs. The banning of DDT along with the passage of the Endangered Species Act helped the bald eagles' numbers to rise, and today our national bird is no longer at risk of extinction.
