State-of-the-art in 1903
When the Lion House first opened in 1903, it featured state-of-the-art exhibits for that time. With the careful transformation of the building into Madagascar!, we continue to establish and maintain the highest standards for animal care, exhibits, and the conservation of natural resources.

Reusing Water
Motion-sensing faucets and waterless urinals in the bathrooms make sure we use only the water we need. This cuts down on the use of fresh water, which makes up 1% of the world's supply.

You Can Save Water, Too!
Remember to turn off the faucet while you're brushing your teeth, and avoid running the water whenever you can.

Making Smart Lighting Choices
The inside of the renovated Lion House is lit with energy-efficient fluorescent bulbs on motion sensors. That means the lights go on only when they sense movement, which saves even more energy!

You Can Save Energy, Too!
Be sure to turn off the lights when you leave a room in your home.

Using Alternative Energy
