Inscription.
You are standing on the original brick street to West Baden Springs Hotel, installed when the hotel was built in 1902. In the early 1900s, over half of the streets in the towns of French Lick and West Baden were made of bricks, numbering in the millions.

This photo shows the Hagenbeck Wallace Circus set up along the drive. The circus wintered their animals in the Valley from 1915-1929 and often held local shows before the troupe headed out on tour.
