The F-12 was partly conceived with the idea of breaking down certain farmers resistance to the notion of giving up their mules and horses. It came with either a wide-front, row-crop, or single-wheel tricycle. All-rubber tires became available in 1935.
To avoid hand-cranking, some farmers would run the tractor down wooden blocks to start it.
