Inscription.
1921 Fordson Tractor. Model F. The Fordson tractor by the Ford Motor Company was the first agricultural tractor to be mass-produced. It was a lightweight, frameless tractor with a vapouriser-fed engine and four metal wheels. Henry Ford was raised as a farmer and yearned to produce an inexpensive tractor that almost anyone could afford. Without support from the other major shareholders of Ford Motor Company, Henry started building the Fordson tractor in 1917. The Fordson name was a contracted form of "Henry Ford and Son." The historical significance of this little tractor is how it changed the industry allowing smaller farmers and miners equipment for mass production.
