4. Grumman F6F Hellcat
WW II Navy and Marine Carrier based fighter plane. Used by Navy and Marine fighter pilots in WW II. The Grumman F6F replaced the Grumman F4F Wildcat in mid 1942. The F6F Hellcat was used at NAS Melbourne to train Navy and Marine fighter pilots who flew them in combat after their operational training. Donated by CDR W.R. Barnett USNR (ret)

5. Grumman F4F Wildcat
WWII Navy and Marine fighter plane used by Navy and Marine fighter pilots during early part of WWII. Grumman F4F was subsequently replaced in 1942 by the Grumman F6F Hellcat. Both planes were used at NAS Melbourne Florida during operational training then in aerial combat and carrier operations. Donated by CDR W.R. Barnett USNR (ret)
