Dinner Bell
Photographed By Devry Becker Jones (CC0), May 13, 2022
The dinner bell was traditionally used to call farmers in from the fields when it was meal time. It was also rung during times of emergency or to celebrate a special event.
This bell was used by Thaddeus T. Bussard and his family from the early 1900s until his son, Harry Bussard removed the bell when the property was sold in the late 1960s to M-NCPPC Montgomery Parks.
The bell was donated to the Agricultural Farm Park by Edith Bussard Cross and Mabel Bussard Cook, both born and raised in this house.
