English translation:
"Santiago Atitlán Peace Park"
From 1980 to 1990, the population of Santiago Atitlán suffered great sadness due to the violence, kidnappings and murders that caused the loss of innocent catechists, a deacon and a pastor.

Widowed mothers and orphaned children suffered from the events that happened to the people of Santiago Atitlán
The Tzutuhil people, with great courage and strength, faced this and look now for peace, justice, truth and security to regain tranquility:
With the shedding of the blood of the thirteen martyred brothers on the night of December 2, 1990.
'Fraternity and love reign with the Tzutuhil people'
"Martyrs of Peace"

We dedicate this peace park in memory of our brothers who gave their lives for peace
