Bartlett Joshua (B.J.) Palmer, DC, E.P.A.C.
1882-1961

B.J. Palmer was the son of chiropractic's founder, D.D. Palmer. B.J. is known as The Developer of chiropractic. He is recognized for his work in bringing chiropractic to prominence in health care, for developing chiropractic X-ray techniques, pioneering research projects, his humorous and pointed epigrams about chiropractic and life, and for running the Palmer School of Chiropractic. B.J. Palmer was a broadcasting trailblazer who established WOC and WHO radio and television stations.

David D. Palmer, D.C., E.P.A.C.
1906-1978

Referred to as The Educator, David was the son of Drs. B.J. and Mabel Heath Palmer. He was born on the Palmer campus and raised among the faculty and students. Dr. Dave, as he was called, became president of Palmer in 1961. He is recognized for changing the name of Palmer School of Chiropractic to Palmer College of Chiropractic and for modernizing the campus. He was instrumental in obtaining accreditation and non-profit status for the college. He expanded the Palmer broadcasting empire and was inducted into the Broadcast Pioneers Hall of Fame.

The First Lady of Chiropractic, Mabel Sarah Heath was born in Milan, Ill., and married Dr. B.J. Palmer in 1904. After graduating from Palmer she studied anatomy, wrote a textbook on the subject, and taught anatomy at Palmer for more than 35 years. She was the treasurer and business manager for the PSC, international president of the Quota Club, and the Supreme Kiatrus of Sigma Phi Chi sorority.
