Ohio Soldiers' and Sailors' Home Civil War Memorial
Patriotic citizens of Ohio mourn their Soldier-Sailor dead, veterans of '61 to '65. Their self sacrifice and deeds of valor are worthy of emulation.
Whether we fight or whether we fall by saber-stroke or rifle-ball, the hearts of the free will remember us yet, and our country, our country will never forget.
All honor to the dead who died in the time and act of war; all honor to the true soldiers who have died in the succeeding years of peace; all honor to their worthy living comrades.
This monument was placed here by the Woman's Relief Corps, Department of Ohio, Auxiliary to the Grand Army of the Republic, and is erected to the memory of the Soldier-Sailor dead who lie buried here, whether their battles were fought on land or sea, without regard to color, race or creed. They are our country's heroes.
Erected 1913 by Woman's Relief Corps.
