Inscription. On Wednesday, the drivers were ready to go at 4:00 am. At dawn, the convoy of 28 trucks crossed the George Washington Bridge. Their route took them across New Jersey and the Delaware River at Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. They came down Route 100 to Business Route 30, turning onto South First Avenue. they were greeted with great fanfare all along the route, with the fire companies draping flags from their ladder trucks.
