Inscription.
3. Murray Cross (1835-1897): To your left, you will see the grave of Murray Cross. Cross was enlisted for 3 months in the 16th PA. Following an honorable discharge, he would organize Company C, part of the 87th Regiment. He participated in Winchester, the Wilderness, Cold Harbor, and Spotsylvania. He died at the age of 62 and was remembered as a soldier and an able and honorable man. Following the War, he became the proprietor of the Central Hotel, a Republican candidate for Chief Burgess,, and was an active member of the General John Sedgwick post of the GAR.

8. Unknown Soldier: To your right, is the grave marker of an unknown soldier. Two unknown soldiers are buried at Prospect Hill according to the 1930s Historical Society of York County tombstone abstraction. This marker contains the following inscription: "Remembering 5 unknown dead 3 here, 2 near The Twenty First Century Confederate Legion." The second unknown soldier's grave can be found in Section A near the grave of Henry Milliard.
