1. The Ohio & Erie Canal Park Marker
Inscription.
The Ohio & Erie Canal Park is dedicated to the life and memory of Joseph M. Bowden, 1957-2012.

The Works was created from the vision and resources of Howard B. LeFevre and the physical facilities were made possible by the tireless efforts of Joseph Bowden. From 1998 to 2012, Joe lovingly restored and built the Works complex as we see it today. He shared Howard's passion for the restoration of these historic buildings. Joe dedicated the last ten years of his life to the preservation of the eleven buildings and six acres that completed the vision.

Newark, Ohio will long remember Joe Bowden for his love of family and friends, dedication to the building trades and for his rich sense of humor and wit.

Erected 2012 by The Works Board of Trustees.
