She has gone on to become a clinical professor of Medicine and Medical Oncology program leader in Gastrointestinal Oncology and associate director of diversity for the Kimmel Cancer Center at Thomas Jefferson University. In addition to her medical achievements, Dr. Mitchell is a retired Brigadier General from the Air National Guard.
