Inscription. By 1350 A.D., this area was a Native-American town of elite leaders and commoners. This fourteen-acre site consisted of one large platform mound, four burial mounds, and a large habitation area enclosed by a defensive wall. Many residents were maize farmers who also hunted deer, elk, and bear. This town participated in a long distance trade network for copper, mica, and conch shell.
