1. Green Glaze Collards Marker
Inscription. Also called "greasy collards" because of their waxy shiny leaves, Green Glaze collards originated in the 1820s, making them the oldest collards grown in the Southeast. They are a staple of Southern cuisine, and are often cooked down with meats, resulting in a broth called "pot likker." Compared to other collards, they are known for their tender leaves and pest and disease resistance.
