Inscription.
Beekeeping has been a human craft for centuries. An apiary is a space where you find two or more hives in the same place.

Honeybees average up to 50,000 bees per hive. A single hive consists of one Queen, who is more like a mother than a queen since she lays up to 2,000 eggs per day, Worker bees (all female) who do all the work in and out of the hie, and Drones (all male) who make up about 10% of a hive. Drones mate with a queen during her one and only maiden voyage.

Honeybees pollinate at least one third of our food crop when gathering pollen and nectar from plants, flowers and trees.

In recent decades there has been a tremendous loss of honeybees due to a variety of factors. For details about honeybees visit our website.

Please, do not disturb the bees — they will sting if they feel threatened.

The section of this video starting on 0:25 states that the disappearance of the bees is specifically tied to the use of neonictinoids, and that framing the issue as complex is a direct result of lobbying in the United States by producers of pesticides. In other countries, this issue is seen as much less complex. (Submitted on December 11, 2022, by Devry Becker Jones of Washington, District of Columbia.)
