1. Bertha Gilkey-Bonds Marker
Inscription. Bertha Gilkey-Bonds was born in St. Louis and graduated from Central High School and Forest Park Community College. She became active in public housing tenant affairs at the age of 16. In 1976 she organized and incorporated the Cochran Gardens Tenant Management Corporation. She fought for fair housing in the city of St. Louis and was recognized nationally for her work.
