1. Boxley Homestead Marker
Inscription. George and Hannah Boxley, first white settlers in Adams Twp., built the log cabin which still stands on this property in 1827. The Boxley's, early leaders in the community, used their home as a station on the Underground Railroad prior to the Civil War. A son, Caswell Boxley, built an elegant home here in 1878 on what was known as Pioneer Hill, the highest point in Hamilton County.
 
Erected 1998 by Hamilton County Celebration Committee.
