Big Bend National Park
In the 1930s and early 1940s, the US Civilian Conservation Corps worked extensively in the park from their base in the mountains. About 200 young men, 80 percent of whom were Hispanic, built a reliable water supply in the mountains, roads, stone and adobe cottages, and trails.
