1. Ivory Perry Marker
Inscription. Ivory Perry was a native of Arkansas and a Korean War veteran. Perry came to St. Louis in 1954 and became an activist first with the Jefferson Bank demonstration and later leading the effort to address lead poisoning in the city. He broke ground in what is now known as environmental racism. His work is instrumental in persuading the St. Louis Board of Aldermen to pass the city's first lead paint legislation in 1970.
